Useful Information:
Dance Shoes

You want to wear something comfortable...remember that feet swell as the evening goes on. If possible, a shoe with a leather sole is preferable... it will allow you to slide across the floor... rubber tends to stick. For men - a dress shoe is usually the most appropriate for beginners. For ladies - a dress shoe that has a back strap or heel cup to it is preferable. If you wear a thong type sandal or mule shoe...it won't stay on your foot very well.
